1)Tidy your outside space

Open out the outside space and expand the area by pruning back any out of control area’s, make sure that if your prospective purchasers arrive, the front garden space is cleared of any children’s toys, cars, gardening waste, bulk waste and rubbish bags. You may be having a clear out as you are moving but prospective buyers don’t need to see it. It is mostly the men who notice how easy the work in the outside space is and having a messy or overgrown garden can really effect the chance of a sale.

2)Add some colourful features

Where you can, make your space seem colourful by adding some flowers. A simple technique is to use some pots or maybe a hanging basket and plant colourful healthy looking flowers and for however long you need it will add a certain appeal. Try to avoid heavily scented plants as people have personal preferences and the wrong plant could leave a bad lasting impression. A bonus point of pots or baskets is they are relatively inexpensive and you can always move them with you to a new home.

3)edging the boundary

The border of your garden should also be well maintained depending upon the type of space you have. If your property has less outside space, camouflaging the boundaries with some potted plants but not too large can change the perspective and in some cases lightening the walls with paint. It can refresh the look of your home, but make sure the paint you use is light and in keeping with the rest of the property’s overall look. If your garden is on the larger side, point out the size, with clearly defined boundaries making sure that all fencing is in good repair and newly painted or any brickwork is perfect.

4)The entertainment space

If you have a well maintained clearly defined back garden space, use it to your advantage by creating a scene. Have a cleaned and stylish barbeque on show with chair and tables, as if you use the space to entertain and relax frequently, even if it’s not your personal taste most likely purchasers are looking for the dream rather than the reality. If you have the benefit of sunshine, offer them a seat and any refreshment when they reach your garden and allow the sun to do the rest.

5)Add a water feature

If you have the chance and you have some money then make a real impression by adding a self contained water feature that is both beautiful and child friendly, it can make the memorable feature that puts your property ahead of the others of equal price area.
