Whether as a child or adult, at one point in most of our lives we have seen one: a child's toy so extravagant, so cool, so ridiculously expensive that it hard to believe that someone would actually give a kid something that cost so much.

Yet who doesn't remember going over to some friend's house the day after Christmas proudly clutching a new action figure, only to see him roaring around his backyard in a pint-size Jeep. All of a sudden that G.I. Joe didn't seem quite so great.

Kids are nothing if not status conscious. The more expensive the toy, the bigger the bragging rights.
