What is Search Engine Optimization?
Search Engine Optimization is catching up fast in the world of internet. It aims at achieving increased search listing thereby increasing the volume of traffic from various search engines like Google, meta-crawler, yahoo, etc. It includes editing and organizing the content on a webpage / website so as to increase its relevance / association to specific keywords on specific search engines.

How to get maximum number of people surf a website?
Search Engine Optimization, otherwise known as SEO has now become a key web marketing activity which has started turning submissions to directories to its advantage. To make the SEO a success, it is wise to use page rank, directory submission, link building service, link building campaign. If the question is, how to get maximum number of people surf a website; link building is the answer that plays an important role in getting increased traffic to a website. Before Starting a professional Link Building Campaign a website should be reviewed and keywords should be identified so that the benefits can be reaped out of the link building campaign.

Heard of a Dictionary in Software Engineering? Well, directory in software engineering acts like a dictionary. It helps look-up a name or information linked with that name. Like a dictionary has words with various meanings, in a directory too a name or a word / phrase could link to various sites or pages on internet. In simple words, a directory service is a shared information system or platform that stores, organizes, and provides access to information in a directory. Directory Submit is one of the fastest and effective ways to submit a particular site / webpage on Search Engines / directories.

What is Page Rank than?
The PageRank process has been patented (U.S. Patent 6,285,999). It was developed by Larry Page of Stanford University and hence the name Page Rank. Interestingly, Google has exclusive license rights on the patent issued to Stanford University. PageRank is a numeric value which tells the probability that a person will visit a particular page. It signifies how important a page is on the World Wide Web. Since in a Page Rank process the distribution is evenly divided between all documents, a page which is linked to multiple pages with high page rank will fetch high rank for itself.

How does Page Rank work? - Google assigns a number from 0-10 for each webpage on the Internet which depicts a site’s importance as per Google. A probability is expressed as a number between 0 and 1. A 0.5 probability signifies that there is 50% likelihood of something happening, therefore, a Page Rank of 0.25 means that there is 25% chance of a person clicking that particular page. Let's understand this with an example - Let's take four web pages P, Q, R, and S on internet. Since the approximation will be divided equally amongst the pages, each document will have a Page Rank of 0.25. If pages Q, R, and S each only link to P, they would each confer 0.25 PageRank to P. Thus, Page P will get a higher Page Rank of 0.75.
