Metro Manila
Having the premier cities of the country, Metro Manila is one of the hottest spots in the country. Here, you will find the famous Luneta park, formerly known as Bagumbayan. This is the place wherein the national hero Jose Rizal was executed during the Spanish era. You’ll find lots of local and foreign travelers here every weekend. There is also Paco park, the SM Mall of Asia, Intramuros, Malate, Baywalk and others.
North Luzon
When headed up north, you can start at Bulacan with their rows of resorts to chill one during summer plus the wonderful beaches in Bataan, Subic, Zambales and La union. If swimming is not what you’re looking for during summer time in the country, you can head up more and spend some time at Baguio city, the country’s summer capital. You can also go much higher and have a great view of the world famous Banaue Rice Terraces. When heading back to Manila, try to stop at Pampanga and have a taste of their sisig, tocino and longanisa.
South Luzon
If you were surprised with the number of resorts you have seen at Bulacan, double you’re excitement as heading up south gives much more. Pansol in Laguna is a haven for swimming enthusiasts as the area provides hundreds of pools for rent. Whatever size you’re looking for, wether cold or hot springs, Laguna can surely have it for you. Drive a couple more hours and you’ll be in Batangas, try some hiking at Mount Maculot or a scenic view at Taal Volcano. Don’t miss the Cagsawa church in Albay which is also home for the Mayon Volcano.
Visayas
Paradise is what you’ll find in Visayas with Boracay topping the list in the region. Famous for its white beach, it is a world-class beach resort and considered as one of the best if not the best. Spend some of your time also visiting the islands in Plawan where Puerto Princesa is located. Try going back times when visiting Cebu as you take a sneek at magellan’s Cross at the heart of the area, check out Fort San Pedro, swim at their numerous beach resorts available or be at their Sinulog festival as well as attending other festivals like Dinagyang of Iloilo, Masskara of Bacolod, Ati-atihan of Aklan.
Mindanao
It isn’t true that Mindanao is a dangerous place to visit. In here lies some wonders like surfing in Siargao, the colorful vintas in Zamboanga, the Tuna Fish in General Santos, taste the durian of Davao or attend their Kadayawan festival and swim at a number of good resorts like Pearl Farm.
